Hey n00b & Veteran Gadlings!

I hope everyone had an awesome 1st week! Anyway, there are a couple
things going around the school that look pretty exciting for the next
week. First off, on Tuesday, Lucas Film/Arts will be in the gallery
from 5-6. They will be here to talk about their exciting internship
program: The Jedi Academy! This is a very good chance to get
information on how to apply and what is expected from you to join
their ranks.

Also, further in the week, we are having club fair! W00T! Come one and
all to see the various clubs, but also to support GAD club (we get $$$
for the club if we have an awesome table >:D). If you have any ideas,
or would like to help out, send me an email ASAP (we need people to
make sweet goodies to swoon over students). Last but not least, GAD
Lan is officially on Fridays for this quarter in the basement.

One last thing, GAD Club has a blog. Crazy I know, but we have one and
if you miss one of these emails (because I know you will ^_^) I will
also post this exact message on the blog with maybe a couple other
things. At least visit so you know it does exist.

Hello Fellow GAD club Members!

Hi! My name is Nathalie! I am the brand new GAD President starting this Quarter. To tell you a little about myself, I am originally from the east coast (New England! Go Patriots!) and the first system I ever played on was a Sega Genesis. I would say my top 3 favorite genres are Fighting (SCIV) and RPGs (FFX, FFVIICC). Ok, so now that you know a little about me, I would like to address some other business.

We are still meeting on the 6th floor from 5-6pm in the same room (611). As a reminder, VP is Phil and Treasure Troll is Elliot Davis. Also, we will be setting up the day we do game night this Monday.

Today at GAD Club I will be showing the games from Game Jam IV and giving out prizes to the winner (if the judging is done)  I will also be giving out the prizes for the tournaments at the last GADLAN.  That should take a while but after that we can talk about new releases and industry stuff.  This Thursday is GADLAN again and this time it will be handheld themed.  So bring your portables to room 911 after 5 or 6pm on Thursday.

Hello yet again GADlings,

This week we ARE going to meet for GAD Club on Tuesday in room 612 from 5-6 to get a speakin’ from a new face in the GAD teaching staff…. Shon Mitchell.

Also I want to talk about GAME JAM 4, which is this Thursday 6-10 in room 911 instead of our usual GADLAN

Take a look at the poster for Super Awesome Fun Week around school for other events going on.. there is free food to be had all over this week!  The talent show is this Friday as well, which I hear is suppose to be super awesome….

Hello again GADlings,

So, this week I don’t have anything special going on for the club meeting, but we will be having some sort of tournament (probably soul caliber or super smash brothers) for GADLAN on Thursday for a prize.  Next week I hope to have a guest speaker although that would require the meeting to be moved to Tuesday 5-6.  But that’s next week…

So yea, for this week we will have a very loose meeting where we can show pictures of the Lucas trip and talk about recent happenings in the industry like the Games Convention

Game Jam 4 is coming week 8 but has been moved to Thursday 6-10 in room 911.  So basically it will be taking over GADLAN.  Again, it should be a fun challenge and with a cool prize this time!

Hello good people of GAD Club

I hope everyone survived midterms. This week during our meeting we will be focusing on the Lucas tour which is this Thursday from 2-3ish. We will go over the details of where to meet and what not, amongst the other usual goings on. Check the list at the end of this email for your name.

As far as school events and such, this Wednesday has a ‘Overcoming Procrastination’ workshop type thing from 12-1 in room 510 so I recommend you go there if you feel you procrastinated a bit too much for your midterms…. just try not to put it off…. There is food.

Also Wednesday you can get more foods at ‘Dining with the Dean’ in the gallery 5-6.

Lastly I just want to plug Game Jam IV which will be happening Tuesday of Week 8 from 6-10 in a soon to be determined room. Game Jam IV is a game design competition with prizes, fun, and awesomeness. Mark your calenders!

As usual operation GAD Club meeting is Monday, room 612 at 17:00 hrs.  First we will be talking about the Lucas Arts tour which has been nailed down for August 21st 2pm.  Those interested in going please come to the meeting to add yourself to the list.  I will also be announcing a competition.. And I plan to have pizza!  AND I believe Denise has some more news for us.  So it should be a good meeting

Other objectives for this week:
Wednesday @ 7:30 is the next IGDA meeting at Dolby Labs.  If you like Spore, this should be a good one to go to.  Also don’t forget… this is one of those networking type events which everyone should be going to.  more info at http://www.igda.org/sf/

Major Conversations is this Thursday.  Todd, our Academic Director, is the speaker so I encourage everyone to go and see his portfolio and hear from about his work experience…. and eat the free food

Also on Thursday is GADLAN (i think) on the 4th floor (or something like that)  where we will be playing some fun games together (maybe)…….. we are working on it ok!  I should be there this week

And again we are working on the Wreck board game project this Saturday 12-6ish (although I may be late due to open house)

Greetings citizens of GADland… I bring you the news,

For GAD Club this week I have a couple things to talk about.  Firstly we are still working on that one board game…. Wreck, so we’ve got to get that done… more info at the meeting for those who would like to help.

Secondly I’ve got something I wanted to share from my career development class that I think would be good everyone.

Then after all the business is taken care of I’d like to have a bit of an open discussion about E3 and anything else that comes up.

Don’t miss it, this Tuesday 5-7 is the Club Fair which will have food prizes and all that fun stuff…. and as usual I will be manning the cotton candy machine, so don’t forget to get your giant ball of pink on a stick from me.
